Horses is owned and operated by Frank Kahl of Rapid
City, South Dakota. Born and raised on a working farm in
North Dakota, Frank has a knack for breeding and raising
quality horses in their natural environment, the big
country, the beautiful hills, rolling meadows, with
fresh live spring creeks running year round. Frank has
continued, over the years, to follow in his father's
footsteps to fulfill the passion of finding friendship
in his horses with a sparkle in his eye. "Simply
Sparkles" is a special mare to Frank, the apple of his
eye out of the entire herd, calling her "Sparkles" for
short. This mare was a diamond in the rough and today
has become an outstanding mare with all the qualities
you could ever ask for. Her foals have been outstanding.
Frank will never sell "Sparkles" and so the slogan
Sparkle With Me was born.
Frank is employed by Ellsworth AFB, Rapid City, South
Dakota, spending his nights on the runways of the base
tending to the safety of the pilots and will be landing
his foals each year by the B-1 bombers. His days are
spent with his horses tending to them and waiting for
his next year of foaling. Frank cares and tends to all
his horses personally year round.
Frank has 3 children, Chris, David, and Emma; and 3
grandchildren, Taeler, Talia and Kai. This website is
dedicated to Brian, another son, who passed away on
March 29, 2004.
Frank is from a family of 11 children,
mom and dad.
